A Reckoning: A World of Our Own

We built this world. We built its machines and its markets, its truths and its untruths. We changed the climate. We deepened the divisions. Now we live in what we made. And it is time to reckon with it.

For its 9th edition, the Ooty Literature Festival returns to the heart of the Nilgiris to do exactly that. Over two days and eight sessions, we look at how we got here, where we now stand, and what we might still become. We turn to the forces of our own making. Artificial intelligence and the fate of the biosphere. Democracy and identity. Opportunity, and the quiet reckoning of the inner life. This is not a festival of easy answers. It is a room where the hardest conversations are held, not won. Where certainty gives way to something more honest.

So come with your questions, and your doubts. Come to reckon with the world we have made, and imagine the one we still can.

Listen. Immerse. Discover. Evolve.

In a world of fleeting conversations and constant noise, Ooty Literature Festival (OLF) 2025 stands as a sanctuary for thought, dialogue, and creative expression. Now in its 8th edition, the festival continues to bring together celebrated authors, thought leaders, artists, and visionaries for a two-day immersive experience in the heart of the Nilgiris.

This year, OLF 2025 is designed as a journey of the mind and spirit, inviting attendees to Listen. Immerse. Discover. Evolve. Each session, workshop, and performance is crafted to provoke thought, ignite curiosity, and inspire personal and intellectual growth.
