Dr. Siddiq Wahid

Prof. Siddiq Wahid is a historian of Central Eurasian empires, currently serving as a Distinguished Professor at Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence and an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Institute of Chinese Studies, New Delhi. He has previously held key positions as the Founding Vice-Chancellor of the Islamic University of Science & Technology (J&K), Senior Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Policy Research (CPR), and Maharaja Gulab Singh Chair Professor at the University of Jammu.
An expert on Tibetan and Himalayan history, he edited and contributed to Tibet’s Relations with the Himalaya (2018) and has translated the epic of the Tibetan-speaking peoples, Ling rGya-Lham Kesar—a project spanning decades. He has lectured widely across the United States, Europe, and South Asia and holds an A.B. from Gustavus Adolphus College and M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard University.
